I installed a Mo-Rod about 2 months ago on a 197 series. I was shooting open sight groups of about 4" @50 yrds, with noticable stringing as the barrel got hot. Those groups sizes shrunk to about 2" @ 50 with no noticable heat stringing. Since mounting a scope, that has come down to about 1" @ 50 and 2"@100yrds.Useful Info RE Mini-30 and Accu-Strut/Mo-Rod. For me, the mini 14 path has taken me to Mo-rod, 1911 buf A few things about your two: Your 183 (stock Mini-14) has a 1:10 twist rate (the same as my 181). Your 188 is a Ranch Rifle and has a 1:7 twist rate. The 183 will do better with a lighter-weight bullet, somewhere in the 50-65gr range, due to the twist rate.
