You can make alot of horsepower with 2 bolt mains and a cast crank, with the power level you are trying to achieve, I wouldn't bother even thinking about a 4 bolt block. I have build 500 plus horse bracket engines with 350 2 bolt blocks and cast iron cranks.Depending on how hard it was expected to be used it came in 2 or 4 bolt main verities. The code K truck is considered a heavier duty option than code C trucks which improves the likelihood of the block having 4 mains, a manual transmission in the truck almost guarantees it's a 4 bolt. It could be anything from a 327 to a 396 depending on what bore and stroke it has now, but ot started life as a late 80s to mid 90s 350. It could be a 2 bolt, or 4 bolt main engine.Any of the caps on a stock block other then the 2482 are just a std. grey cast iron cap. Now the 400 4 bolt center caps are nodular iron cap same material as the 2482 350 center caps. Hmm, so all of the 2 bolt caps are gray, as well as #1 and #5 on 4 bolt engines, 350 and 400]. Many 4 bolt main blocks were made into 302's, and 350's, and not all 302's were 4 bolt main blocks.
