Troughs need a big top to keep rain out. My tops are 4 ft bigger than trough all the way around. They can hold 400 lbs of whatever and never get wet. Bottom edge of roof tin is 5'6" from ground and top of trough is 30". Mine are built from scraps so just cost me time to.build them.Attach 1×2 supports to the ends of the tray, as shown in the plans.
