There's literally no point in using a glaive in a siege battle regardless of the situation. A bought long glaive is pretty good as is. I've been using the Glaive like that and got lucky in a few battles charging far ahead of my line with my shield raised against projectiles hunting the enemy commander and disrupting their formation.
In warband they were good. Here they have no helmets and seem pretty weak unless you have them in a protected archer line then maybe they're halfway decent. But mounted they seem awful. Long Glaive head is a tier 5 polearm part. it says it gives 4.9 cut damage, which is the highest of any part. but if you select it it gives almost no cut damage.
