You can stuff the 231 planetary assembly in it if you do not have a 241 to use. My gripe with it was they didn't intend for you to use the 205 with lever shifters, whatever, I made a bracket thing to do so.

The doubler is cheaper. But the black box is easier, shorter, lighter, and lower gear ratio. Any input is appreciated. The reason the 203 is not wanted in most trucks is that the 203 is full time 4x4 without the partime kit in it. You should be ok but still not sure on the sled pulling aspect.The NP203 and NP205 have the same reduction ratio of approximately 2.0:1. The NP203 is chain driven, the NP205 is gear driven...based on advertised ratings, the NP203 and NP205 are very similar to each other in strength.With your mom at a nice seafood dinner. The 203 has a lower low range than a 205. ie 2.72 (I think) vs 1.96-1.
